Is the Technopolis (ThemeBurn) OpenCart theme still supported?
Short answer: no. ThemeBurn wound down, so Technopolis, Organie and Kiddos no longer get updates. Here's what that means and where to go next.

Editorial opinion based on hands-on experience — not financial, investment, or professional advice. Some links may be affiliate links; see our disclosure.
- Technopolis is no longer actively maintained — ThemeBurn stopped shipping updates and the storefront went offline.
- Your store keeps working, but each OpenCart and PHP release widens the compatibility gap. Treat it as end-of-life.
- The clean move is a planned migration to a maintained OpenCart theme or a re-platform to WooCommerce — without losing your catalog or URLs.
- We say this as the people who now hold the ThemeBurn domain: this is the honest status, not a sales pitch.
01The current status of Technopolis
| Signal | Stay for now | Plan migration |
|---|---|---|
| Updates | Recent compatibility or security releases | No meaningful release in years |
| Dependencies | Works on current WordPress/PHP/browser stack | Blocks upgrades or breaks plugins |
| Business risk | Low-traffic or internal site | Revenue, leads, or resale value depend on it |
| Exit path | Content is portable | Shortcodes, builders, or theme settings trap content |
Technopolis was ThemeBurn's flagship OpenCart theme — a fast, electronics-store-focused template that powered thousands of shops. ThemeBurn, the Sofia studio behind it, has wound down. The demo site and support forum are offline, and no new updates are being released.
If you are running Technopolis (or Organie, Kiddos, Trendo, or Shoppica) today, nothing breaks overnight. But "no updates" is the definition of end-of-life: the theme will not be tested against future OpenCart or PHP versions.
02What the risk actually is
- Compatibility drift — a future OpenCart or PHP upgrade can surface layout or checkout bugs the author will never patch.
- Security — unmaintained code is a slow-growing liability, especially on a store that takes payments.
- Feature lock — you can't adopt newer OpenCart capabilities the theme was never built for.
03Where to go from here
You have two clean paths: move to a currently-maintained OpenCart theme, or re-platform to WooCommerce or Shopify if you've outgrown OpenCart. Either way, the priority is preserving your product catalog, customer data, and URL structure so you don't lose search rankings in the move.
We walk through the catalog-and-URL-safe version of each route in our migration guides — including a dedicated OpenCart-to-WooCommerce walkthrough.
